Good bag for spring/summer hiking

Purchased this bag last week. This is my first mummy bag that I have owned. I was concerned about it being too restrictive however it was perfect. I used it on an overnight hiking trip (Summer) to a high mountain lake. I estimate the Temp around 40 Deg and the bag was perfect. I could see the bag would be easily comfortable down to 30 deg. I did have a thermal top on but was not dressed for warmth. The sleeping bag is just over 3lbs and collapses easily in the sack provided. The sack that converts to a pillow was perfect. I would recommend this bag for spring/summer hiking for intro / moderate hiking.

Tempurture range is a joke

I've generally be happy with the quality of the Pinole 20 bag, however, to 20D temp. range is a joke. On a recent trip the night temp got to 38, I was wearing thermal underwear, sweet suit pants and a micro fleece top and was still cold. I'm not a cold sleeper and the bag is fine down to about 50 but below that it is not up to what is advertised.

I used this bag on a recent 4 day hike through south Florida and was very pleased with it. I used it in my hammock tent in conjunction with a therm-a-rest pad and slept like a baby. I switched out the stuff sack that came with it for a compression sack but other than that they bag is great, especially for the price. I especially enjoy the option of right or left handed zippers, it is easy to use the bag as a blanket if it is not cold out (like here down south)

Haven't yet had the chance to test the temperature rating of the bag, however, the fit is quite good. Initially, I was a little concerned about how snug the bag was but was quick to discover that there ample space exists in just the right places. Of particular comfort is the foot area. Plenty of room is offered here and actually, I found, helped to eliminate some of that confined space feeling found in other bags. The cut of the bag continued to impress me as it was "cozy" in the leg / thigh area and then opened a bit more in the torso area. Overall, a great balance of space and efficiency.
