super light rain jacket and folds pretty well for packs. only used it once so far, but shed water like a duck. hood is big and keeps water totally off and larger hood bill is a nice feature. only thing i was missing was elastic on the cuffs. the strechyness built in kinda helps, but not totally. overall a great jacket in my opinion.

I would recommend this product.

In the three weeks of owning this jacket, I have been in a handful of rain storms. Each time, the Typhoon worked beautifully. I was always comfortable and never wet on the inside. I have done long runs now in the rain using this jacket and it's perfect with either a undershirt, a baselayer, or nothing at all.

The only downside, not significant enough for a star demotion, is the way the jacket hangs over the zipper when zipping up--the zipper always gets caught in the same place.

I would recommend this product.

This jacket is super light. It adds nothing to my pack. I got caught in a steady rain for about twenty minutes and it kept me dry as a bone. I love the stretchyness and it breathes like a dream (for a rain jacket). I'm a slim 6' 1" 185lbs and have super long arms (6' 3" wingspan) and the medium fits great.

I would recommend this product.

As an employee of Columbia, I've watched this model replace last year's Stretch Cohesion. The fit seems to be better to more true to fit for the Typhoon.

So far, it can take on rain and snow and not even care about it. The stretch makes for easy movement everywhere. I know when driving, the middle of the shell puffs out, but that's a minor complaint that must be lived with.

I've paired the jacket with the Mircogrid 1/2 zip from MHW and the combination is perfect for me. Oh yeah, I got two, one for myself and another for my brother. It's a good 2.5 layer shell, amongst a many other shells populating this price range.

I would recommend this product.

I have used my shell in heavy rain, and skiing in 0 degree snowy/windy conditions in Montana, and it kept me totally dry. The cinch on the back of the hood kept the hood on nice and snug in the windy conditions.

I layered with a medium weight wool base layer shirt, the Monkey Man fleece, and the Stretch Typhoon as my shell. I was very pleased with this combination.

I would recommend this product.
