As other reviewers have noted, it is a shame that the entire shirt is not wool blend. One of the greatest benefits of wool is it's natural resistance to body odor.
The use of polyester under the arms totally defeats the purpose. Why pay a premium price for a wool blend shirt that, due to design, doesn't fully take advantage of wool's great natural qualities?
Otherwise, the shirt fits well and is comfortable.
I do not recommend this product.

These are my first wool garments other than socks. When you first put it on you feel a slight itchiness that tells you it's wool. Don't worry - the feeling is gone in about 30 seconds. The feel against your skin during highly sweaty activities is so superior to polypro it's almost unbelievable. Instead of feeling like you are wearing a damp, cold banana peel you feel consistently warm and dry. No real stretching that I can tell. Mine have been through multiple washes with no noticeable wear or persistent funkiness. Only problem I see is that once you go wool, you won't go back.
I would recommend this product.

Great Long Sleeve

I got thi sshirt for running but I think I will end up wearing it all the time. I ordered a large and being tall and skinny it actually fit in the arms and the torso. I love that it is cut long so it doesn't ride up. Great Product!

base layer perfection

the best of both worlds. main body of fine breathable wool and then poly mesh under arms is great. I use this as stand alone for fall trail runs and then as my go to base layer under breathable windstopper / softshell outer layer all winter long. I put a bit small as is very tight to body to wick well but some might find it a bit tight on arms / shoulders. Nice and long so doesn't ride up under waist belt when running or fast hiking. Love the color selection ( I got the green ) as I'm tired of black and blue. 30 years of outdoor activities and countless base layers this is a real stand out. This is my 2nd one, used one all last year through 4 seasons in the mountains.

I wear this as a base layer when running and skiing. The extra length on the shirt was great for skiing. At times the seams can be discomforting but after a few minutes of running I don't notice. When it is just above 40 I will wear this running. Very breathable and it wicks well. When skiing in freezing temps I wear this, the 1/4 zip cusco sweater and the exposure II parka. Never felt too cold or too warm. Quality baselayer product.

Great Base

I purchased this top for cross country skiing, and found it a bit thinner then I had hoped. It feels comfortably close, but the torso and sleeves seem too long. Overall I am very satisfied. The material is quite warm and wicks moisture very well.

Phoenix winter weather is not exactly freezing so the need for a thick base layer is not needed. I wear the Integral with a long sleeve cotton shirt and my MHW windstopper tech jacket and I can handle the cold. It's comfortable and designed so that I don't get too hot when I start moving. I use it when I ride my motorcycle as well. This shirt can do it all. I have two so I can rotate them and keep them fresh. It's the first thing I pack for any kind of trip.

This top is super comfortable and nice and soft against my skin. This fit is perfect and runs long to give plenty of room to tuck in. I am a 5'11" bodybuilder with huge shoulders, back, and chest. The Large fit me perfect. Other larges seem to come up a little high on bottom but this was perfect.

Nice and snug- if you like loose fitting order next size up. Very warm. 1st day alpine skiing had to drop a layer because it was so warm. I love this shirt.

This is a really nice baselayer for all around outdoor adventures. It is not as warm as the Micro Power Stretch but is still relatively warm. I would say that this is definitely on the bottom of the middle weight for baselayers category. The Merino Wool is very comfortable next to the skin. I find myself wearing MH baselayers as everyday shirts rather than your basic T-shirt because they are so comfortable and warm. The nice thing about this base layer is that when it is hot the fabric breathes and keeps you cool but when it’s cold it just holds the heat in. The fit is very true and is cut a little long so you can tuck it in without worrying about it pulling out when you bend over. I would recommend this layer.

I love the material, performance and cut (longer) of this garment but the sizing is off. I generally expect base layer tops to be a tighter/technical fit and I wear an XL. This is definitely larger than an XL. If you like a more technical fit get a size smaller than normal.

Thin and Long

Very very thin and quite long which I really like. I personally think they should've left the Merino wool under the armpits for better anti-microbial and anti-odor properties. Smell in the non-merino areas is my biggest complaint.

best long underwear, period

I have comparable mammut, golite, carhart, smartwool, etc. I wear baselayer everyday for work in the field. These are the bees knees, hands down the best. Why: soft and comfy, warm, they do not gather stink. The fit is about right (i am 6'-160lbs 30 waist and wear a medium). enjoy!

great base layer

i bought this back at the end of october. Its Very warm and keeps you nice and dry, i run it under my snowboard jacket shell and i have no need for a sweatshirt or anything else. the early and later warmer part of the winter season this is and will be a great hiking layer most likely wont even need a coat over it while hiking you stay so warm. as the other comment stated at the end the sleeves fit perfect but the bottom of the chest piece is a lil long but for my style its perfect.

Bought this as I have fallen in love with smartwool products and thought I would give this a chance. I love it for wearing under my cycling jersey! It keeps me warm and dry, which is exactly what it is suppose to do! One oddity is how long the main part of this shirt is, sleeves fit great but the rest is one size larger!
