The extra action camping bag: welded Lamina™ construction for compressible, lofty warmth in a wide, semi-rectangular shape. Welded construction eliminates sewing through the body of the bag, which can compress insulation and create cold spots. Zips together with another ExtraLamina bag.

The comfort of the bag is outweighed by the outrageously POOR design of the zipper. It is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. I regret buying this bag. Do not buy, stay away.

comfy bag, horrible zipper

I bought one bag for my son, who is under 12. He loved it, although under 20 degrees you will get cold. suggest the 0 rating for cold weather. The only problem is that the zipper jams ALL THE TIME. It is a bear to get it unstuck. No way he can do it himself. He simply isn't coordinated and strong enough. I bought t he same bag, seeing how comfy it was, and hoping the zipper was better. NO DICE. Same bad zipper. Getting it unjammed in the middle of the night is a bummer. I am going to have buy a non MNT HW bag for my son since I'm not going to be with him in Scouts and no way can a boy unjam these bag zippers at night

Order longer than you think you need

The zipper and zipper guard design could be improved; the first bag I ordered snagged several times when my son and I tested it at home...the zipper snagged on the zipper guard material...salesman found no snag when we returned the bag; guess you just need to be outside the bag when operating the zipper...not enough to ding the whole bag, but disappointing none-the-less...the bag was very light weight and compactable (a big plus), but my men's tall bag barely fit my 5'10" height; no idea how a taller person would fit...

Just returned from a Nothern New Mexico bicycle tour with my son and a friend. The bag was great. It was light and compacted to the size of a large football using the included sturdy compression sack. The bag fit easily into the stuff bag. The weather was very mild from the high forties to fifties at night. The bag is light and airy for warmer weather, too. I used it as a comforter on warmer nights and climbed into it on cooler nights. I'm 6'2" and 230 lbs and the bag fit fine. There was a comfortable amount of room on each side of me and ample length. With only about 3-4 ounces difference between an extra lamina and a lamina long, it seems like a no brainer. Buy it.
